Healthy Holidays Blog Series Week 7: December Holidays-You Can Do it!
https://youtu.be/3pr-xyC6IcIWelcome to week 7 of our Healthy Holidays Blog series where we are helping you stay on track with your health while still enjoying your favorite holiday treats this holiday season!I hope you all had a wonderful week getting back into the final stretch of work and school for the year!In week 6 we discussed tips to use those thanksgiving leftovers for healthy meal prep and minimizing throwing food out.Now that we are in the final stretch of the year for work, school, holiday shopping and usually the hardest month to stay healthy, we wanted to give you a reminder, YOU can do it!. This week we have tips for you to stay motivated with your health, nutrition, and overall positive mental state to be the healthiest you this holiday season!
- Keep up your meal prep! Just because life gets busy, doesn’t mean you should stop meal prepping. Meal prepping will save you stress during the rest of the week, minimize the likelihood of choosing easy, less healthy meals out, and will save you money which is always helpful during this high expense season!
- Make time for your exercise! With it getting lighter later and darker early along with our busy schedules we are less inclined to push ourselves to stay motivated and continue our workouts. If you struggle with this adjust your workout time or type of workout that allows you to jumpstart your motivation to keep going!
- Be Mindful! Take a chance to check in with yourself throughout the day and take a break to reset. If we keep pushing through our stress mindlessly, we remain stressed and become less efficient.
- Don’t skip meals! It is so easy when you are running around all day or working hard to meet deadlines to forget to take a break to eat which usually leads to grabbing a quick piece of candy or over eating later on in the day. If you eat healthy, balanced meals throughout your day, your brain and efficiency will function optimally, your body will work at its highest metabolic efficiency, and your mood will be better controlled!
- Don’t skimp on your beauty sleep! Enough and good quality sleep is crucial to minimize unhealthy food cravings and help with stress and overall health management!
