There are numerous amounts of tasty winter snacks that are both healthy and delicious. We have chosen these 4 wonderful winter snacks for your children because I personally love the way they taste and, when winter comes, my children love them as well!

1. Bran Muffin Bites

Ingredients

  • 1cup water
  • 3 cup all-bran cereal.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter.
  • 1/4 chop applesauce.
  • 1cup sugar.
  • 2 egg
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cup buttermilk
  • 2.5 cup flour.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  1. First, preheat the oven to 400-450° F.
  2. Boil 1 cup of water.
  3. Mix the boiling water and 2cup all-bran cereal with it in a bowl.
  4. Now mix the butter, sugar, applesauce & eggs in a different bowl and mix consistently.
  5. Now pour buttermilk into the second mixture.
  6. After that, add the baking soda, flour, and salt to the second mix as well.
  7. Now take the all-bran and water mixture and combine with the mixture in the second bowl.
  8. Finally, mix 1 cup dry all-bran cereal till it blends fully.
  9. Now oil brush your muffin tin; you can also coat lightly with butter to avoid sticking.
  10. You need to bake it for around 10-12 minutes to make small muffins & for large sizes 12-15 minutes. Avoid over baking and allow it to cool.

**You can top the muffin with a tablespoon of nut butter to make this into a complete balanced snack.**

2. Sundried Tomato Pinwheels

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes
  • 8-ounce low-fat cream cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4-ounce parmesan cheese
  • 15 fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or based on preference.
  • 2 medium wheat tortilla

Directions

  1. Either use store bought sun dried tomatoes, or you can make them from scratch.
  2. Take a bowl to add the sun-dried tomatoes and add the soft cream cheese, garlic, chopped spinach, grated parmesan cheese & salt. Whisk gently to mix.
  3. Now take the tortillas coat them completely with the mixture.
  4. On add basil leaves on top and roll them tightly.
  5. Take your kitchen knife to slice the roll based on your required sizes. Your nutritious basil pinwheels are ready.

3. Fresh Veggie Dip

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Dipping

  • 1 cup carrots
  • 1small cucumber
  • 1 small bunch of celery

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients except the milk into a bowl and blend until it is consistent & smooth.
  2.  Add 1-2 tablespoons of milk gradually until it reaches the desired consistency (quantity of milk can vary based on desired consistency).
  3. Chop veggies into sticks and arrange around the dip, then serve.

4. Green Juice

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges
  • ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • One cube of ice.
  • 2 cups of fresh spinach

Directions

  1. Take your blender. Peeled banana & orange. Put all the ingredients inside the blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. It takes only a few minutes to make green juice. Serve it with a round slice of orange on the side of the cup to add a little bit of flare to it.

These healthy winter snacks for children are a great combination of taste and nutrition. Now you know how easy it is to make a healthy snack. The best part is that it is almost effortless and can save a lot of time in the moment while also helping your children grow and stay healthy.
