No Pain No Gain: The Mindset of Success or Self Destruction?

No pain no gain is a popular phrase and mindset in our society when it comes to achieving progress or success, but pain is our body’s way of telling us that we are doing something to damage it, to cause harm. So why do we believe we must experience pain to succeed in nutrition, sports/physical activity, business and any other area of our life? While we do need to experience moments outside of our comfort zone in order to progress or succeed, maybe even feel some discomfort, the moment it becomes pain, we have gone too far.
